Design: oysters collected at the begining of a summer mid day high tide, oysters collected at the end of a summer mid day high tide, out group is winter oysters. Sample collected 17th March 2022 (Austral early autumn - highest seawater temperature) after 5 h low tide air exposure at 2 pm.

The genome sequencing project of Saccostrea echinata, commonly known as the Sydney rock oyster, is a significant scientific effort aimed at decoding the genetic blueprint of this ecologically important bivalve mollusk. The genetic material for this project was sourced from oyster specimens, and high-fidelity (HiFi) sequencing reads were generated using the PacBio Revio machine. This project is expected to provide researchers with a comprehensive understanding of the Sydney rock oyster's genome, shedding light on its unique biological traits, adaptation mechanisms, and potential applications in various fields. One prominent focus of this genome project is to explore the oyster's genetic factors related to its resilience to environmental changes and its role in maintaining coastal ecosystems. The insights gained from this genome would assist in better understanding the oyster's biology, its role in marine environments, and its potential applications in aquaculture and environmental conservation.
